Nightshade
Flowers of the Desert presents their alter ego troupe Nightshade, first unleashed at Shimmy South in March 2007. They performed a Goth fusion dance celebrating strength in sisterhood. Flowers bloom in the day and at night; Nightshade celebrates beauty in darkness.
Nightshade members:
Fox Glove: “To have Light, you need the dark…..”
Belladonna: “Something wicked this way comes….”
Hemlock: “what lies beneath….”
Poison Ivy: “Briars grow wild where her wings scrape the land….”
Narcissus: “To truly know me, you must embrace all sides of me – the light, the dark and all the shadows in between….”

Later that year, Aziza Fadwa aka Fox Glove had to take a sabbatical from her dance troupes; so that Nightshade’s performance at Shimmy South was it’s first and last.
Some of the members of this troupe have started their own troupe called Raks Wacky.
